Dr. Patrick Brooks is an orthopedic surgeon at Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute who brings a patient-focused approach to helping people move more comfortably and return to the activities they enjoy. His experience includes orthopedic surgery, adult reconstruction, and treatment of complex hip and knee conditions. Beyond treating patients, Dr. Brooks contributes to research and professional education in joint replacement and serves as a peer reviewer for Arthroplasty Today. Dr. Brooks completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Orlando Health in Orlando, FL, where he served as chief resident from 2023 – 2024. During residency, he earned awards for his research contributions and presented this research at several national acclaimed orthopedic conferences. He then completed an adult reconstruction fellowship at the University of Arkansas in Little Rock, AR, a high-volume, complex training program focused on advanced hip and knee replacement surgery. His fellowship experience included independent Level I trauma call and training at the state’s only tertiary care hospital, providing extensive exposure to complex joint reconstruction cases and challenging orthopedic conditions.
Dr. Patrick Brooks specializes in adult reconstructive surgery with a particular focus on hip and knee replacement. His expertise includes total hip replacement, direct anterior hip replacement, total and partial knee replacement, robotic knee replacement, and complex revision surgery for previous hip and knee replacements. His research has examined direct anterior hip replacement, joint replacement techniques, prosthetic joint infection, and outcomes following total joint procedures. He also serves on committees working to improve outpatient hip and knee replacement pathways and standardized treatment for hip fractures. Through modern surgical techniques and individualized treatment planning, Dr. Brooks works to restore function and help patients pursue a more active lifestyle.
Dr. Brooks was great. He listened to my wife and I about the past problems with my knee. We worked out a plan of treatment for my knee and didn't require surgery.
This was the first time any doctor has done such a thorough exam and clearly explained to me the options. The atmosphere was professional and compassionate.
